the Land Under the Sun – Ecuador Acts29 returns to the country where it all began 22 years ago!

This autumn, new adventures await in the Andes mountain range and the Amazon jungle.

Acts29 has organized 13 schools in Ecuador since its inception in 2004. This makes Ecuador Acts29’s most popular country. We simply love Ecuador. Equmenia has been collaborating with IPEE (Iglesia del Pacto Evangélico del Ecuador) since the early 1970s. The church has congregations spread throughout the country, and they are just as eager as we are to receive visits from the school team during the internship.

An adventure

The school in Ecuador involves journeys over mountains and through jungles. It will challenge you and give you friends for life. But above all, it will give you the time and tools to explore your faith. Our starting point is that God is the same today as He was when the first disciples lived. Acts29 is a place where we want to give God the time and space to show who He is and what He wants to do in our lives. You will grow in ways you have never experienced before this much we can promise you.

School 2026

During the three months in Ecuador, you will live together with about 30 young people from several different countries. Life at the base will be full of community, teaching, workshops, meals, activities, devotions, and more.

On weekends, you will be part of a team connected to a “home church” in one of the local churches. There, you will get to know the everyday life of Ecuadorian families and build close relationships with them.

Over the course of the autumn, you will spend three full weeks on internships. These internships will take place both in the jungle areas east of the Andes and in mountain villages high among the volcano peaks. During the internships, you will meet many amazing people and help with a variety of practical tasks.

The security situation in ecuador

I’ve heard about unrest in the country. Is it safe to go there?

In recent years, Ecuador has experienced an increase in gang-related crime linked to drug trafficking. The government is actively working to address this situation. The security challenges are mainly concentrated in coastal areas of the country.

For this reason, the school is located in the eastern part of Ecuador, where the situation is calm and stable. The local church, which hosts and takes responsibility for us during our stay, is not concerned about safety in this region.

The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs doesn´t advise against travel to Ecuador in general, but it does recommend avoiding certain coastal areas.

A school for the whole world

Acts29 is an international and multicultural discipleship school. This means that we invite young people from all over the world to participate. At the latest school in Sweden in 2016, we had 12 nationalities present. We know that the interest from our 18 partner countries is great, and therefore we expect an exciting mix of cultures.
