Apg29 returns to the African continent, and this time to the southern tip. For the second time, we are organizing a school in beautiful and multicultural South Africa.
An adventure

An Apg29 school means journeys across mountains and vast landscapes. It will challenge you and give you friends for life. But above all, it will give you time and tools to explore your faith. Our starting point is that God is the same today as when the first disciples lived. Apg29 is a place where we want to give God time to show who He is and what He wants to do in our lives. You will grow in a way you never have before — that much we can promise you.
South Africa
South Africa is a country with both a rich and painful history. The country has been colonized and exploited by the Dutch, the English, and the Germans. The white population c

ame to be called “Boer,” which means “farmer.” They expanded with their farms and enslaved the black inhabitants of the country. Today, the country is perhaps best known for the period of apartheid between 1950–1990. Inspired by Nazi Germany’s racial theories, the large black population was oppressed by a white minority. In 1990, the freedom fighter Nelson Mandela was released, who was later elected president, and South Africa could begin the journey toward modernization and freedom that continues to this day.

God has done things in me, through me, and around me. I have received a greater longing to read the Bible and to seek God in prayer. We all have different backgrounds, different cultures, different personalities, but the beautiful thing is that we are all one in Christ.
Elin Sundin, Apg29 South Africa 2023
The Apg29 school will have its base at Phumelela Bible College, which is located in the northeastern corner of the country. The nearest towns are White River and the capital Pretoria, about 200 km to the west. Phumelela BC was founded by the Swedish Alliance Mission in 1961 and is today run by the partner church “The Alliance Church in South Africa,” TACSA.
TACSA is the church we will cooperate with, and in whose congregations we will have internships in different parts of the country.
